Scheduling ( Two Smart watering levels; Smart disabled)

Netro Support
Updated at 2023-06-09 06:07:25 UTC

There are 2 different levels of Netro’s smart watering you can choose (For Netro watering controller, please go to Settings->Zones->Smart Zone; for Netro Pixie timer, please go to Settings->Garden->Smart Zone)

 1. Smart watering: Level advanced

This is the default setting of Netro watering controller's smart watering. In this level, your zones will be watered automatically by Netro with smart schedules.

Netro will do everything for you, you do not need to set up the program/schedule.

Netro will skip smart watering and programs when there is large amount of rain(>0.2inch/ 5.08 mm) or watering regulations and manual restrictions.

You can inspect the Smart schedules in the calendar view. They are with the blue water-drop icons.

2.Smart watering: Level basic

This is the default setting of Netro Pixie timer's smart watering. In this level, no smart schedule will be generated. You will need to add programs manually (go to Settings->Programs to add programs) and Netro will skip programs when there is large amount of rain(>0.2inch/ 5.08 mm) or watering regulations.

If you do not want smart zone schedule to override your own programmed schedule, you can set up the Smart Zone level from Advanced to Basic, which only skip rainning days for your programmed schedule.

Please note when smart zone is enabled, your local regulations will automatic override your own program if there is any conflict. So when you set up your own program watering time, please do not conflict with your local Regulations if there is any. To check up regulations, please go to Settings->Regulations.

3.Smart-zone feature disabled

If you want to create your own programs and turn off smart zone feature and rain delay feature, go to Settings->Zones->Smart Zone (Settings->Garden->Smart Zone for Pixie Timer) and toggle the enable button. When the smart zone is disabled, the system will strictly follow the user program to water the zones. There is no intelligence here. Netro will not skip your schedules when there is rain. Regulation feature will not be in effect as well.

Custom sprinkler flow rate

Jure
Updated at 2023-06-01 14:42:27 UTC

Hi!

I have sprinklers with 6l/min specification. in the custom sprinkler settings there is a drop down list with flow ratea 10-100 mm/h.

If I make a calculation 6l/min x 60 min = 360 l/h = 360 mm/h? And that's only for single sprinkler. If I add up all the sprinklers in the zone it's even more. Is flow rate unit not specified correctly or am I doing something wrong?

It would be great if there was flow rate specified when selecting sprinkler type for zones .

Thanks!

Rotor head

Sjors Janssen
Updated at 2023-05-25 19:15:07 UTC

Hello,

I've just been using a Netro Spark to water my garden. I have set up 3 zones. Two of these zones have a rotor head sprinkler. However, they don't cover the same area. One of them rotates over 90 degrees. The other rotates 180 degrees. So I think the rotor head that covers the 180 degrees needs to run double the time of the 90 degree one. How can I set this? I've set the sqm for each head, but smart irrigation used the same times for both.

Kind regards,

Sjors

Update the irrigation routine according to the updated weather forecast

Luis T
Updated at 2023-05-24 15:44:31 UTC

Hi there!

I live in Madrid, Spain and use AccuWeather as my weather provider, since NetroWeather does not provide a correct forecast for this area for some reason.

This week we have had heavy rain forecast so Netro will not activate the irrigation system for several days. The problem is that as the day goes by the forecast is changing and Netro's planning is not updated.

It has already been several days in which according to the initial forecast, it was supposed to rain and it did not, so I have had to launch manual irrigations.

Is there any way to force the smart irrigation program to update according to the new weather forecast?

Thanks!

I bought a Netro controller, installed it, and everything works. When I try to integrate it with Alexa, it becomes complicated. I already downloaded the skill and associated my user, but it doesn't appear in Alexa. It only works when testing the skill. Does anyone know how to solve this issue? Thank you.

Watering even though 100% saturation

Matt Ward
Updated at 2023-04-14 13:57:11 UTC

I set up all of my zones for smart watering today and it looks like it will be running all day. On zone 1 it must have watered 5 times (close to an hour total) even after it showed 100% saturation. Do i need to adjust some settings? That is way too much water for 70 degree weather in April.

Thanks,

Matt

Suggestions and Question.

Maurizio Gianesin
Updated at 2023-04-12 15:08:32 UTC
Good morning.
I just started using Netro Sprite 8 zones out of 12 zones with two whisperers.
Congratulations for the App and the Web interface I'm using.
I have a concern about some trivial errors in the interfaces:
If you go to settings/preferences/SchedulingSetting
1.1 The Italian translation of "Two Frames" in "Due Cornici" makes me smile, it is better translated in "Due Cicli" or "Due Fasi". But my suggestion is also for English : it is my opinion that if instead of "Time Frames" and "Two Frames" you use "Time Phase" and "Two Phase" it is much better also for English and automatic translations free from misunderstandings.
1.2 Only in the App and not on the Web, the description of the two phases has "afternoon" under "morning" and vice versa.
Now I have a question:
I ask you for an explanation on Smart Scheduling.
I had set a lower limit of 10 C° and a Time Phase of 6:00 - 10:00. When I removed the 10 C° limit, the system did the same day a cycle at 23:58 instead of waiting for 6:00. why?

I hope I have been helpful and thank you for any response.

Is Netro that smart?

Alessandro Alfei
Updated at 2023-03-16 00:53:44 UTC
why if Netro is so smart after months of learning with the whisperer still uses the "humidity to add watering" data set by me and doesn't create a custom program?  smartzone is in advanced level and regular mode.

Smart zone manual setup

Vieri Verze
Updated at 2023-02-18 08:31:43 UTC

I do not understand how many millimeters to set. I have microsprinklers of 4lt/h and 2lt/h. I thought to set to 4000ml/h but the max is 100ml/h.

How to calculate? I have a big terrace with 30 plants and various microsprinklers.

Thank you,

Vieri

Reduce watering time in 1 zone

Ale Levi
Updated at 2023-01-22 19:32:59 UTC
Hi, I'd like to reduce the watering time in 1 zone which gets dumped each time Netro waters. The other zones are ok. Is there a way to do that in the smart mode? Maybe set an offset for that specific zone?

Customized moisture level not triggering watering

Richard
Updated at 2023-01-12 21:29:59 UTC

I have a Sprite with 3 Whisperers, all in the veggie patch.

I have the zones set to customize with a low of 25% and a high of 45% (I find 30 - 35 % moisture about right)

But the zones just won't get watered!

Zone 1 is down to 6% today and has been dropping steadily for days.

I HAVE to manually water, as the day time temperatures are consistently over 30 degrees (today 33, tomorrow 37).

Otherwise the plants will die.

Given there are only two values to enter (low and high). How do I stop the Netro from skipping days and putting the zones in the "Moisture" category??

Main feeder line shutoff valve control

Richard Miles
Updated at 2022-10-10 02:16:36 UTC

My main water line to the sprinkler system came loose and flooded my vacation home yard with 250,000 gallons of water before the leak was discovered and repaired.  Does Netro have the ability to control an electric valve on this feeder line such that the main valve will only open when the irrigation system calls for water?
