No moisture reading

I have 5 Whisperer sensors and 1 of them is no longer measuring moisture.  Temp and Lux are being measured but consistently zero on moisture.  Placed next to another functioning sensor that is reading moisture and still nothing.

Wifi reconnect issue

Giacomo
Updated at 2022-05-03 21:04:03 UTC
Topic: General

Hi All,

I'm a satisfied Italian customer of Netro Sprite 12 zones since 2019!

Recently I set my router to shutdown the wifi during the night, the Netro sprite it's the only one device that don't automatically reconnect when wifi come up in the morning, the white LED still blinking. To reconnect at the network, I need to phisically shutdown and power on the Sprite.

Is there a "trick" or an update to cover this issue? HW Version: 1.2 , Firmware Version 1.1.3

Thanks in advance.

Pixie shows "communicating" and timer counting down but valve not open?

When trying to use the Pixie to manually water the garden, I go to the Netro app and select the pixie. It shows "sleeping", 99%charged. I then select "manual run" and set a time. The app then grays out and says "communicating" as the timer begins counting down my preset manual time but the valve stays closed. Why? When does it open?

Manual schedule with Rain Forecast

Dhar Sawh
Updated at 2022-05-01 13:26:09 UTC

Hello,

Is there a way to get a manual schedule to honor the rain forecast and not water on those days?  I need to be on a manual schedule for one zone as I have a wide variety of plants in that zone and I have to force a shot everyday cycle.  However if it rains I would like the app to not water that zone on that day

Thank you,

Dhar

I live in Spain and ubication selector do not let me specify my correcto location. I assume It is requieres to provide the Meteorological service the place where to predict weather, so if location is incorrect, the weather too and the watering planning is not optimized properly.

Please work It out un Next app releases.

Incorrect rainfall accumulation

I live in Katy Texas and have been using the Netro water controller in smart mode for over 2 years with no problems.  We received at least 1.5in of rain on the April 25, so I was dismayed to find my sprinkler system watering my yard on the morning of the 26th.  The rain graph in the app is showing 0.03in for the 25th and is clearly wrong.  I have tried changing to all the different weather providers, but the total rain accumulation doesn't change.  The frontal system that caused the rain passed over the entire area, so this is not a situation of local shower only affecting a localized area.

How do I allow a third-party to have control of my sprinklers? The situation would be for example if a irrigation lawn specialist is coming over to adjust my sprinkler heads and I don’t wanna have to follow him around and turn on zones etc.

I was trying to edit/delete existing schedules. But seems not working

1. There was always a green circle running when I save the change and it never go away

2. If I close the app and come back again, the calendar still show old schedule

3 however if I try to edit the schedule now, it shows the program had been removed (as shown in pic)

I can’t figure out why two of my zones are showing as smart zones

In my schedule, some of my zones are showing as Smart Zones, the rest are not. They also schedule themselves in an undesirable order. How do I take control of my schedule and tell this thing to do what I want? I find this interface to be way too confusing.

Whisper Sensor

I've had the whisper sensor for about a year and it's worked great the entire time. I decided to add 2 more sensors for more zones and both of them are reporting absurd numbers more often than not. I have tried resetting them, moving them, nothing is working. Really not happy right now. Attached is a screenshot of a typical day's readings.

Smart Watering - Water in the Morning

Netro Support
Updated at 2022-04-24 01:45:07 UTC

Watering correctly saves time, money, and plants. The heat of summer is coming, and along with it, water restrictions in many municipalities. Summer water restrictions can force us to re-evaluate our watering practices. In many cases we may find that our watering practices are wasteful and inefficient.

Deep, infrequent watering is recommended. In most cases, an inch of water per week (rain plus irrigation) should be sufficient. Applying that inch of water in one deep watering will encourage deeper rooting, which leads to stronger, healthier plants. Watering once a week also fits well into most municipal water restrictions. Shallow, frequent watering, on the other hand, will lead to shallow root systems and high water loss through evaporation. With shallow watering, such as light frequent sprinkling, you actually end up wasting quite a bit of water and still don’t meet the needs of your plants.

The best time of day to water a garden is in the morning, since that gives the plants time to dry off before nightfall. It's cooler and winds tend to be calmer so water can soak into the soil and be absorbed by the grass roots before it can evaporate.Leaving water on plants overnight can lead to mold. Watering your garden at the right time and using the right method will keep your plants healthy.

There may be need to evaluate the device used for watering. While a lawn sprinkler may be a good method for the lawn, it may not be the best way to water a vegetable garden. Pick a watering device that matches the needs of your garden and the time you have available to water. Once a device is selected, know the correct way to use that device, in order to water efficiently.

When faced with summer watering restrictions, save yourself time and money by carefully selecting the time and watering device which best suit your garden’s needs. With Netro's smart watering, home gardeners may not fear that with restrictions in place they won't be able to properly water their gardens. Netro specializes in Evapotranspiration Reduction (ETR) and automatically make seasonal watering adjustments. Even in the hottest summer, Netro takes good care of your garden.

If you must water in the evening, try between 4 and 6 p.m. which should give the grass blades time to dry before nightfall. The later you water, the greater chance of disease becoming prevalent in your lawn. It's worth noting, though, that you don't necessarily have to water your lawn. Lawns are resilient. Established and properly cared-for lawns can survive weeks without water by going dormant (when the lawn turns brown), then recover once the rain returns.

Cannot remove a tree from my zone #2

Davide M.
Updated at 2022-04-20 09:23:18 UTC

Good day all,

in my zone #2 I set up a Magnolia tree.

If I remove the tree and set up lawn, the app apparently does it, but when I come back to check,  it mixes things up:

This seems to happen only with zone #2: how can I fix it and get rid of the Magnolia tree in this zone ? Does it affect my watering calendar ?

Thanks for help.

Davide

EDIT: wrong zone ID, correct is Zone #2

Hi all,

is there any way to force the app to use ENG language ? The ITA translation is sometimes really bad and puzzling...

I can volunteer to tune up the translation if needed.

Best Regards,
