Hi Kirk, Thanks for your suggestion about putting the actual rain into Netro by users and we will support this in the future. Could you please let us know if the "Answers 2" still appears and send us a screenshot? We will look into this issue and fix it.

Hi Kirk, Currently our system does not support pulling data into Netro manually for users as it might cause too much trouble to users. I have consulted our develop team and we will support this feature through IFTTT in the future.

I second that - dark sky for San Francisco has been very inaccurate... for weeks it has been showing partly cloudy with 19% chance of rain even though it was mostly sunny/ today it is raining and it shows partly cloudy with 2% chance of rain ...

Keeps watering after heavy rains!

Hi Dan,

As rainfall amount varies significantly even in a small area, the weather data could be not accurate enough for your place. Netro still watered your zone after heavy rain, this might because the weather forecast said there was going to be a small rain but it turns out to be a big one. The soil moisture level will not increase a lot after small rain so Netro still watered your zones to keep the soil mosute level up. You can go to the Home page, tap the moisture level(%)  in a circle in the zone area to check the soil moisture level of your zone by week/month.

Of course, all weather forecast could be wrong. Netro tries the best to provide accurate watering schedule even with incorrect forecast. First, we periodically update the weather data, once the weather data is changed, we update the un-executed schedules ASAP. Second, we re-check the weather data for the past, update our model, and adjust following schedules accordingly. For example, Netro may not water today due to large rainfall from forecast data. The next day, Netro re-check the weather data, if no rainfall found and your soil is dry enough, Netro will water accordingly.

Thanks,

Hi Alfonso,

We only support Google Home voice control in English. Please use your google assistant app to find "Netro Sprite", either by directly typing "talk to Netro Sprite" or searching through the google assistant explorer. Then tap the "link" button, and you will be redirected to the account login page. After using your Netro account to be successfully linked, you will be able to use google home to work with Netro. You can talk to your Google home like: "Hey google, ask Netro Sprite to water zone two for 5 minutes." or "Hey google, ask Netro Sprite to stop watering." The Netro Sprite should start/stop watering accordingly. Currently these are the only two commands that we support. We will add more in future, for example, running a specific program.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Why do you describe your system as AI?

Not sure what you mean but I agree to some point. I installed mine 2 days ago and it didn’t rain BUT the weather forecast predicted rain. It never happened though. In my opinion AI would look at the facts and then decide what to do. My gras is dying because it’s not getting enough water and it’s hot.

But Netro is not catching this.

@Netro: I have an own weather station and would like to hook my Netro up to it and let it make decisions based on REAL data - not coulda shoulda... maybe, maybe not.

Is this possible? Otherwise it kinda defeats the purpose.

Thanks,

Oliver

I'm with Kirk! Netro needs to supply a method to register accurate rainfall from a local sensor. It's a BIG feature that the competition offers. If the weather service feeds that Netro uses are inaccurate, you need to supply us an alternative. I think it's a bit short-sited to underestimate the need for accurate rainfall detection.

Dear customer,

The weather report may not be that accurate. If you want try other weather report, please go settings->weather provider. You can switch to other weather providers to see if it works better. You could also try weather provider: Wunderground PWS and input your station ID.

If the weather forecast changes, Netro will update and recalculate the schedule.

You can adjust the rain data through Discover page->"+" button on the upper right corner-> Correct rainfall. You could also customized the weather restrictions, like I want to skip the schedules on the day after tomorrow as well, or I want to skip if rain more than 0.1 inch. The setting is in "setting -> preferences -> rain".

Please let us know if you have further questions.

Thanks,
