Hello everybody,

I own a Sprite and a Netatmo weather station. By now I have configured the Netro App to use Wunderground as the meteo provider. More specifically I have configured my own Netatmo Weather station as a provider. I have to say that it works pretty good in forecasting weather conditions. I would like to know if somebody else is using this configuration and owns also the rain gauge module. In case, does provide the correct rain amount of rainfall in the Netro app Discover page. It would be nice if the Netro "AI" could use the exact rainfall from the rain gauge provided through wunderground.

Anyone experimenting with this?

I wasn't able to find a way to read the IP address assigned to the Sprite and/or Whisperer could you consider adding a page in the app where you can read the value?

Thank you,

Tony

Whisperer not working as expected

I've been using my sprite with a Whisperer since a few months. The sprite works wonderfully but the whisperer has serious probloms. I get incorrect readings. Specifically my whisperer is stating 1% topsoil moisture level. Honestly this is impossible after a sprinkling succeded at 6:00 this morning. This misbehaving is going on since the first week. It works for the first day or two after resetting the whisperer but then it goes weird. On other occasions instead the topsoil moisture was stuck at 98% even after several days of not sprinling in full summer with temperatures over 35°.

I have tried anything from resetting the whisperer to changing spot. At this point I'm led to think that the whisperer is broken.

Is anybody else having this strange behavior?

Do you have any other suggestion to solve this problem?

I have noticed that you are not giving due importance on support requests in this forum about whisperer problems. In my opinion you should put more effort into this.

Hi,

I have searched the Netro skill in the Italian Amazon market but wasn’t able to find it.

What do I need to search for?

Thank you

Unexpected smart schedule

Topic: Smart Watering

Hi,

I set up a sprite connected to a whisperer. In the smart scheduling I see that my two zones would be watered in the following way the next day:

- zone 1: 6:00 16 min.

- zone 2: 6:17 15 min.

- zone 1: 6:46 16 min.

- zone 2: 7:02: 15 min.

I have 1 minute delay between each watering.

What I see the next morning is only the first two waterings made but not the second. Specifically:

- zone 1: 6:00 16 min.

- zone 2: 6:17 15 min.

I'm worried that my lawn is missing water since these days we are having the hottest days of summer (41 Celsius).

My whisperer now (11:23 AM august 12th) reads 0 lux, 23 C, 89% topsoil and 72% subsoil for zone 1 and 70% for zone 2. The whisperer is connected both to zone 1 and zone 2 so I don't know why I get different subsoil readings.

Immediately below I see "Moisture" "All day" both for zone 1 and zone 2. Could you please explain this behavior?

It would be nice if you could provide a blog post with all combinations of possibilities and related meanings.

UPDATE

In the web application I have found "User" in the restriction column searching. In the iOS app the only restriction I found to be activated could be the "Moisture to skip watering" in the watering adjustment for the whisperer sensor which is set to 80%.

Thank you in advance,

Tony

Topic: Installation

I'm doing a first installation with an 100-HV-FF 24V ACRain Bird valve.I connected the wires to the C and 1 connector to serve zone 1. I populated the zone in the app. Because I want to test the system before I disassemble my previous I did not install the valve between the pipes. I click the "play" triangle in app home screen but I get no reaction from the valve. The solenoid is completely closed. I am using the 24V AC/AC adapter bought on your website.

Does the valve need water flowing through to work properly?

Thank you

Configuration for Netro Sprite suggestions requests

Topic: Installation

I am interested in buying the Netro Sprite sprinkler. I read several reviews and they are all pretty good. I noticed that many state that the sprite is not able to water two zones at the same time. Is this something limited by project and wanted or do you think it could be upgraded with a software upgrade?

I wanted to ask you some questions about my garden layout. I attach a planimetry for convenience.

The garden consists of two pieces surrounded by railings with a central railing too. The one on the left side is about 70cm lower then the one on the right side.

The two big areas are covered with lawn. At the left side border there are 8 laurus nobilis plants (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laurus_nobilis) while at the right side border there are 8 Trachelospermum jasminoides plants (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trachelospermum_jasminoides).

Based on your experience how many zones would you create. At first I thought to go with three zones: one for both lawn plots, one for the laurus and another for the Trachelospermum. My doubt is I need to split the two lawn plots into two separate zones. How would the inability to operate different zones at the same time affect the watering and would the Sprite handle different times automatically or would I need to intervene manually?

My last question is about the Whisperer sensor, how many of them would you place in the garden?

Waiting forward to your suggestions,

Tony
