Actually a few of our users also suggest Meteo weather provider and we will do some investigation to support it in the future.

Hi Carlo,


What happened is that when you installed the controller you chose the sensor first and the app thought you have the intension to add some standalone sensors (not assigned to any zones in the controller).

To move the stand alone sensors to a zone, first you have to go to Settings->Sensors->Edit(upper right corner) and then delete the sensor. Next you will have to go to the home page. There is a drop down menu and please select your Sprite controller, then go to Add a Product-> Plant sensor and then select the zone and complete the following procedures to add the sensor. You will need to press the button 6 times on the back of the sensor to change its mode to Setup mode (light blinking slowly).

The sensor might be out of battery. Please place the sensor under sunlight for 1-2 days and see if it works.

Best sync option?

Dear customer,


We recommend to set the sync frequency to 1 hour which is the default. If you set the sync timer to longer you will wait for more time when you try to do a manual warring from the home of the app.

google home not connected

Could you check if it works now? Our R&Ds have failed to reproduce the problem. Google Home works fine under our test with your devices and several other devices. 


It could be caused by Google service outage. We noticed that you tried to use Google Home on 04/21, on which day Google Assistant service had no response issue similarly. Few hour later, Google had fixed the problem and everything went back normal. 


If still not work, could you please try to unlink your Netro account then link it again? We will send you email about the details and proof that it should work now. You may see watering schedules lasts for few seconds on the schedule page on your App, don't worry, it's caused by our internal tests.

Smart watering at wrong time

Dear Joakim,


If you create a program or restriction, Netro will strictly follow the watering time and duration, however, preferences will not. Netro will try to water during your preferred time. If Netro believes your watering is not enough, it will still water your zones regardless of you preferred watering time.

Dear Richard,

It's also common to have multiple type of plants in one zone. Usually, it's recommended to use the plant that needs most of water. For example, you have grass, trees and annual in a zone, it's better to use "grass" as you set. This is because other plant types can survive with more water, but your grass could die without enough water. One exception is Xeriscape, which could die with more than enough water.

Forecast vs Expectation

Rain expectation uses the amount of rainfall multiplied by the probability of the rainfall to compare the threshold.


Example: If the smart zone feature is turned on, Netro will skip the schedules when there is a chance of significant rain(>0.2 inch). If rainfall is 0.2 inches but probability is 50%, then 0.2*0.5 = 0.1, 0.1 is less than 0.2, so the watering will go as scheduled. But if rainfall is 0.5 inches with 50% probability, then the Smart Zone will cancel the watering schedule for that day.

Daily Wind speed could not be accurate enough to decide if water or not

1. The wind data from darksky we used is daily data which should be average, not peak.


2. Our wind constraint is for all day long. It is not hourly and hourly wind speed needs more access to the API and calculations are more frequent (24x). Currently there are few customers using wind constraint, so we will not support hourly in the future.

Hi Fraco,


The sensor can only measure the humidity of the place where it is inserted but not an large area. It cannot measure the soil moisture level within a few meters of the surrounding area.  However, the general humidity of the soil where sensor is inserted does not have much difference.  So when inserting it,  we suggest find a place which represents the average condition for your zone, not place sensor in  special places, such as edges, pits, blocked places, etc.

Restriction means exactly..when not to water..but if I want specify the opposite?

Hi Luca,


Please go to Settings - Prefernces - Scheduling to set your preferred watering time to tell Netro to water  between a certain time range.  Netro will try to water during your preferred time. Please note preferences is less strict so if Netro believes your watering is not enough, it will still water your zones regardless of you preferred watering time.
